BitClout is a social network based on the blockchain system that grew fast and became controversial even faster. Just recently, it was predicted by a lawyer that the BitClout creator may end up receiving a legal notice from one of the law-firms.
This is exactly what has happened as the creator of BitClout has ended up receiving a letter from the law-firm. It has been revealed that it is one of the most prominent law-firms that has sent the BitClout creator a cease-and-desist letter.
The sources have confirmed that the law firm that has sent the letter to BitClout’s creator, Nader Al-Naji is Anderson Kill. It is one of the most prominent law-firms that is based in the United States of America.
The sources reveal that Anderson Kill has sent the letter to Nader Al-Naji as they expect that he is the one behind the launch of BitClout. The site reportedly represents the product lead, Brandon Curtis at Radar Relay, which is a decentralized token exchange.
The letter sent by the law-firm suggests that the platform is violating the privacy rights of Brandon Curtis and they need to stop it right away. The letter has clearly intimated the lead of the website to cease and desist all the information or the likenesses they have for Brandon Curtis through their website.
In the letter, the legal teams from the Anderson Kill law-firm have also explained why they are sending the letter to BitClout. The law-firm has claimed that the users in the cryptocurrency industry are buying tokens that are tied to the individuals who can be identified as prominent figures.
The law firm has suggested that so far, 15,000 tokens have been preloaded onto the platform. According to the firm, it is Brandon Curtis that has highlighted this concerning situation to the Anderson Kill law-firm.
The law-firm revealed that Curtis has approached them about the likenesses of his profile as well the content resembling his on the Twitter account. The incident was reported by Brandon Curtis on March 19, 2021, where he claimed that the content was created without getting his consent.
What the law-firm tried communicating in the letter was that BitClout was wrongfully using the likenesses of other prominent personalities and profiting from them.
The law-firm also made it clear that BitClout was acquiring no prior permission from the personalities before using the content and information, profiting from them in return.
The letter also suggested that it is always in the power and control of the used personality to claim their rights and tokens on the platform. Still, BitClout has managed to profit from this maneuver and they have targeted the lead Nader Al-Naji.
